Surrounded by native woodlands and close to the famous Falls of Clyde,
New Lanark World Heritage Site is a former cotton mill founded in 1785
which became famous as the site of Robert Owen's model community.
Now beautifully restored as a living community home to around 200 people
and a visitor attraction, the fascinating history of the village is
interpreted in an award-winning Visitor Centre.
The eight Waterhouses are stunningly converted mill buildings sleeping
either 2 or 4 people in one or two twin or double bedrooms. They offer a unique opportunity
to stay in the heart of the World Heritage Site and are literally
right on the river with stunning views.
You can enjoy walks in the surrounding Wildlife Reserve and they are ideal for touring, being
less than an hour from Glasgow, Edinburgh and the Borders. All the
facilities of the New Lanark Mill Hotel are only yards away.
The leisure facilities of the hotel are available to self catering Guests at £10 per adult and £5 per child (5-16 years), per stay (beauty treatments extra).
Each Waterhouse is on two levels and has a lounge, fully equipped
kitchen (lounge/kitchen in one bedroom Waterhouses), bathroom with
bath and shower and electric storage heating. An extra bed can be
added to some Waterhouses.
