KEY
This recently built semi detached croft house, set in a beautiful
location on the Isle of Lewis, has a beautiful view of the Kyles
of Valasay from its large lounge. Grey seals, dolphins and many
species of birds are regularly seen.
Valasay is a little hamlet on the isle of Great Bernera, an island
off the west coast of Lewis which is reached by a bridge that
crosses the Atlantic. Bernera is in itself a very scenic island
and is ideal for walking, fishing and birdwatching.
The lounge has an open solid fuel fire, and the spacious kitchen/dining
area is fitted with an electric cooker, fridge, microwave oven
and a washer/dryer.
The first floor has one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and
a bathroom with bath, wash basin, shower and WC.
Oil fired central heating and coal are included in the rental
charge. Bed linen and towels are included. Valasay has a colour
TV, video and payphone. Children are very welcome and a cot and
highchair are available. Pets are not permitted due to the presence
of livestock. Valasay is a no smoking property.
Valasay is a 40 minute drive from Stornoway and is a lovely location
for exploring the very scenic district of Uig, or the more historical
west side that includes the famous Standing Stones at Callanish
and the Arnol Blackhouse among its many attractions.
There is a bus service to Stornoway Monday to Saturday. The community
centre, Post Office and local shop are all located in Breaclete
village, 1 mile from Valasay.
