"Where the magnificent scenery is matched only by the beauty of visiting
wildlife"
You can witness all of this splendour while staying in any of the five
estate dwellings. Gate Lodge, Loch View Cottage and Laurel Bank Villa have
breathtaking views of Loch Fyne while Glen Cottage nestles in the "Glen of
the Fairies" with panoramic hill views and Garden Cottage sits in parkland
just 10 minutes walk to the Loch.
All the cottages are completely different in style and character and have
been tastefully furnished and decorated by the Maclean family.
The 2,000 acre estate, which borders Scotland's First National Park, is
open to all cottage guests. It has a lochan stocked with brown trout
offering a real challenge for the angler, and for walkers, park, woodland
and hillside to wander at your leisure. Gate Lodge
(sleeps 2)
This 18th century, single storey lodge stands just across the road from a
pebbly shore with spectacular views across Loch Fyne, and with its own
small enclosed garden.
A former gate house, set in the extensive grounds of Strachur Estate, it
provides a cosy and comfortable base. Woodland walks through the grounds
can be enjoyed from the doorstep. Ideal for a couple.
There is one 6' wide superking double bedroom, a sitting room with open
fire, colour TV, VCR, stereo/CD player, a small galley kitchen with washing
machine/tumble dryer, microwave & fridge freezer, and bathroom with bath
and electric over-bath shower.
Electric convection heaters and partial night storage heaters. An initial
supply of coal and logs supplied, thereafter available locally. Dogs are not accepted at this property.

Garden Cottage
(sleeps 4 - 5)
Garden Cottage is a stone built Victorian cottage with a small enclosed
garden. The farm road which passes it leads only to a burn which feeds
a 'lochan' (small loch) where ducks can be watched and trout caught.
It is set in the grounds of Strachur Park which was laid out in 1789
and its ancient beeches and lime avenues still stand. The village shop
and post office are only 10 minutes walk away.
Downstairs, just inside the door, is a small sitting room, ideal for
children, with a woodburning stove, colour TV and VCR. The well equipped
kitchen is large and has a dining area and includes a washing machine,
fridge freezer, microwave & stereo/CD player. There is also a quiet and
cosy sitting room with an open fire, a single bedroom and the bathroom and
WC.
Upstairs there is one double bedroom and 2 single bedrooms. The bedrooms have lovely views over grassy
parkland. There is a further single attic bedroom suitable only for a child.
Electric convection heaters and partial night storage heaters. An initial
supply of coal and logs supplied, thereafter available locally. Dogs are not accepted at this property.

Glen Cottage
(sleeps 5)
Situated in a secluded and tranquil
location. The views from the hills above the cottage are breath-taking.
In the early 19th century Glen Cottage was the main dwelling in the
small community which grew up in this Highland Glen, now only two houses
remain and the glen has been taken over by sheep and forestry.
The rest of the world is not far away though. A rough farm farm road (1/4
mile), which runs from the cottage, leads to a secondary road which, just a
mile on, takes you to the A815 and into the village of Strachur.
Downstairs there is the living/dining room with open fire, colour TV &
stereo/CD player and the kitchen with breakfast area including washing
machine with tumble dryer, microwave, fridge and freezer. There is also a
large porch for laundry, hanging coats, boots, etc.
Also on the ground floor is a twin bedroom heated by storage heater and
electric convector heater and the bathroom with over bath shower.
The steep stairs lead to a master bedroom with 6' wide superking double bed
and a single bedroom.
Electric convection heaters and full night storage heaters. Open fire with
initial fuel included (enough for one or two evenings) and thereafter
available locally. Note: Because of the steep stairs the cottage may be
unsuitable for the infirm. Dogs are not accepted at this property.

Fyne. Set by the roadside, with its own large garden, it is an ideal base
for a larger group. Superb woodland and parkland walks can be enjoyed
close by. The local pub and shop are within easy walking distance.
Downstairs is the large sitting room with open fire, colour TV, VCR and
stereo/CD player, the dining room and the kitchen with washing
machine/tumble dryer, fridge freezer, microwave. There is also a twin
bedroom.
Upstairs is a triple bedroom, master bedroom with 6' wide superking double
bed and single bedroom.
