Properties which have been inspected by the Scottish Tourist Board are awarded stars (between 1 & 5) as a reflection of quality not simply the range of facilities. One star is Fair and Acceptable, two stars have been rated Good, three stars are Very Good, four stars are Excellent and five stars are Exceptional and World Class. |
| Well Behaved dogs and other pets accepted by prior arrangement. They must be properly supervised and you must bring their own bedding (refer to item 7 in the Conditions of Let) A charge may be made (per dog/pet), shown to the right of the symbol, which is paid to the owner. | |
| Most properties include all bed linen, towels & tea towels. | |
| A very few make a small charge for the hire of towels & tea towels which should be booked in advance if required and paid to the owner. | |
| Log/Coal/Peat open fire in property or wood burning/multifuel stove. An initial supply of fuel is often provided, additional supplies may be charged. | |
| Most properties include all electricity/gas and heating in the prices shown or have a generous allowance of 200 units (any excess to be paid to the owner on departure). | |
| For some, these costs are additional and paid by meter reading taken on arrival & departure or by coin meter. | |
| Some properties are completely no smoking. Where smoking is permitted, restrictions may apply. | |
Each property has a colour television, although reception might be limited in more remote areas, and some also have a video.
High chairs and cots. which must be pre-booked, are usually available. There may occasionally be an additional charge. Please bring your own cot bedding.
The owner or their representative will welcome you on arrival, or as soon afterwards as possible, to ensure that everything is in order and to answer any questions you may have.
