A wonderful house in the heart of the lovely conservation village of Cullipool on the small Isle of Luing, just 100 metres from the sea.

This group of four 19th Century Stone Quarriers Cottages have been extensively and sympathetically restored into one substantial architect designed residence with a wonderful atmosphere and large sundeck with sea views. The restoration was done by the owners who took over 5 years to complete!

The Island of Luing is situated in the Firth of Lorne just off the mainland south of Oban and is easily reached by a regular car ferry across the Cuan Sound from Seil (journey time 5 minutes) and is well situated for day trips to Mull, Iona, the Kilmartin Valley and Oban.

The island is 7 miles long by 2 miles wide and has a population of around 180. There is an excellent village store and although not boasting of a pub, a night out on neighbouring Seil is a possibility! There is a local beach of black sand and gravel, with interesting walks along the coastline. The wild life is abundant and the sea views magnificent! Luing has a long history and along with nearby islands was famous in the 19th Century for slate quarrying.

This is a very quiet spot and provides ample opportunities for hill walking, sea fishing, cycling, boat trips to neighbouring islands and for generally having a relaxing time. The waters around Fladda are excellent for windsurfing and other water sports. A private mooring is available free if required - perfect for a combined sailing holiday.

The main accommodation on the ground floor comprises a large living room and dining area with coal burning stove, high vaulted ceiling with stained glass panels and feature glass screen opening onto the large Douglas Fir sundeck over a pool with superb sea views and sensational sunsets (weather permitting!).

There is a large master bedroom with two single beds and open vaulted ceiling with feature stained glass balcony and en-suite bathroom with shower.

Two other bedrooms with double beds are located on either side of the second bathroom.

Fully fitted kitchen / breakfast room with turbo dryer washing machine, electric cooker and oven, microwave oven / grill and fridge / freezer.

From the kitchen is a spiral staircase to the first floor and the Chartroom (an extra cosy lounge) with open fireplace, colour TV/video and sofa bed (for one extra person). There is a selection of books, old charts on the wall and great views to Fladda lighthouse and over the Firth of Lorne to The Island of Mull

All areas are decorated to a high standard with wood block flooring and rugs. In addition to the fireplaces, electric heating available. A really wonderful house in a great location!

There is a fully enclosed landscaped garden with seating in three separate and distinct areas.
