KEY
These two wonderful lodges, right on the shores of Loch Lomond
and part of the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, are furnished to a very high standard. Set in the magnificent
Queen Elizabeth Park near the foot of Ben Lomond (3,196 feet)
at Rowardennan on the east side of Loch Lomond (reached via Drymen
and Balmaha), they have beautiful views over a sandy beach and
the loch itself. The beach also provides safe bathing for children.
The 300 year old Rowardennan Hotel is about 4 minutes walk, with
pleasant dining and bar facilities.
There
is easy access to water sports including canoeing, windsurfing,
fishing and sailing. On site launching facilities are available
for your own boat. Away from the water there is excellent hill
walking (and the West Highland Way passes nearby), several golf
courses and access to other outdoor pursuits.
Cashel Camp Site shop is
four miles south of Rowardennan and there is a post office, bank
and a Spar shop in Drymen. You are only 25 miles from Stirling,
an hour by car from Glasgow and 75 minutes or so from Edinburgh.
Both of these lovely lodges
has a verandah and barbecue, lounge area with gas log effect fire,
TV, CD and video player, dining area and fully fitted kitchen.
They are double glazed with electric panel radiators throughout.
